Cedric The Entertainer

Cedric The Entertainer has spent more than three decades as one of the most recognizable names in comedy, building a career across stand up, television and film.

Cedric rose to national prominence as part of the groundbreaking Kings of Comedy Tour alongside Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac. The tour became the basis for Spike Lee’s The Original Kings of Comedy, introducing Cedric’s storytelling, larger than life personality and observational humour to an even wider audience.

His television career has included The Steve Harvey Show, The Soul Man and, most recently, eight seasons starring as Calvin Butler on the CBS comedy The Neighborhood. On the big screen, audiences know him from films including Barbershop, Johnson Family Vacation, Be Cool and the Madagascar franchise.

Throughout his career, Cedric has earned multiple NAACP Image Awards, received BET’s Richard Pryor Comic of the Year Award and was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018.

While his work has taken him across nearly every corner of entertainment, stand up remains at the centre of Cedric’s career, with his live shows drawing on family, relationships, everyday life and the observations that have defined his comedy for more than 30 years.
