Our Mission

We believe in the power of community. Our mission is to connect residents with the events happening in their neighbourhoods – from farmers’ markets and fall fairs to theatre, concerts, library programs, workshops, and everything in between.

What We Do

• Curate Local Events: We gather events from across the region so you can see what’s on in one place.
• Support Local: By promoting local events, we help support local businesses, artists, and community organizations.

How We Curate Events

Every listing on Durham Happening goes through the same process:

1. Collection: Events are gathered from trusted local sources — public libraries, municipalities, museums, theatres, and community organizations across Durham Region.
2. Review: Listings are checked for accuracy, completeness, and relevance before publishing, against the organizer’s own posting.
3. Updates: Listings are refreshed regularly. Events that are cancelled or rescheduled by their organizers are updated or removed.

We don’t accept payment for placement: events are listed because they’re genuinely happening in the community, not because someone paid for visibility.
